'X'-iles
(20-40 somethings Young Adult Group)

Young Adult activities at First Presbyterian Church provide opportunities for fellowship, service and study as a means of glorifying God.  This group offers the chance to develop our spiritual life and to grow as a community of faith.  As it becomes harder to define a young adult, we invite everyone from singles, doubles, triples and beyond to join us for any study, service opportunity or social event.

This year's leadership team has decided to break the Young Adult Ministry into the three categories of "Education," "Fellowship" and "Mission."  Please see each category below for the planned events and feel free to join us for any or all.

If you have questions, would like more information about these offerings, or want to add your name to the e-mail distribution list, please contact any of the leadership team or Kirk Hall at the church office.

EDUCATION

Sunday Mornings: After First Presbyterian focused the Summer worship around the 10 Commandments, the X-iles are joing the Searchers and Seekers (a bit older and a wee more feisty) this fall for a discussion on the "Decalogue" (10 Commandments).  Please join us in  Room 209 from 10:00 p.m. -10:45 a.m.

Wednesday Nights: Join us for Wonderful Wednesdays at First Presbyterian Church this fall (September 12 - November 14).  Dinner is served at 5:30 and the classes begin at 6:30 and run through 7:30 (childcare is provided).

Novel Theologians: Monthly gathering of young adults in groups of six.  The focus of the discussion alternates between a spiritual autobiography and a smaller piece (article, quote, song) each month.  These gatherings continue to be a great way to get to know one another and to discuss our faith (or lack thereof).  For information about joining a group, please contact Kirk Hall.

FELLOWSHIP

First Lunch: On the first Sunday of each month, FPC young adults meet for lunch after church.  Stay tuned for where and when!

Softball Team: Joing forces with other Presbyterian churches in town, First is playing ball!  Assured to focus on fun (as some church leagues get a little carried away) we welcome anyone who can (or cannot) swing a bat.  Please contact Kirk Hall to play in these Thursday night games this fall.

Social Gatherings:  When an X-ile opens their home to a cook-out, Presbyterians are sure to show.  After past successful cookouts, we will be gathering for another informal and fun get together.  Stay tuned for details.

MISSION

Mission is not only central to the life of the church, but to the spiritual growth of each individual.  For opportunities or more information (than these updates), please feel free to contact Kirk Hall or check the Mission bulletin board at the church.
