Who are the youth At First Presbyterian Church?

Strictly speaking, "the youth" are the young people of our church who
are in sixth through twelfth grade.  Often called "tweens" or
"teenagers" (depending on age), they can usually be found in the
church's attic or in the sanctuary's balcony.

However, the activities of youth include much more than simply
dwelling in high places.  In fact, when our youth are not residing in
attics or balconies, they can be found at Gratz park, "just hanging out" or doing mission work around town.

This of course begs the question:  Are you a youth?  If so, you are
cordially invited to walk with us wherever God might lead.

What do we do?

At First Presbyterian Church there are many activities in which the
youth are involved: mission trips, retreats, Super Bowl parties, Canned Food Scavenger Hunts, Bible studies, Just Lunch, four square games, and much more.  All this is waiting for you!  And of course you can bring a friend!

Why do we do all this?

We believe that the life of the church involves all people of every
age.  Our hope is that through youth-oriented activities, gatherings
and events; we will better connect our young people to the greater
life of the church.  We believe that the Christian faith is relevant
for today and that through ministry to the youth we all grow in our
understanding of how our faith is lived out.

Our approach is relational; meaning that ministry only makes sense in
the context of relationship. To this end we participate in many types
of activities in order to foster relationships with one another and
build a deeper sense of community.  Through all we do, our goal is
developing our young people (and ourselves) into mature Christians.
