Lee Bowman, Pastor Lee Willey Bowman was ordained to the Ministry of Word and Sacrament in November of 1988. She has served as Associate Pastor at two churches in Austin, Texas, Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church and First Presbyterian Church before being called to First Church in Lexington as Senior Pastor in November of 2000. Lee was born and raised in Memphis. She received a BA from Mary Baldwin and an MA from the University of Virginia. She attended Union Theological Seminary in Richmond for her Master of Divinity degree and Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary for her Doctorate in Ministry. Kirk Hall, Associate Pastor Kirk Hall was called to First Church in Lexington as Associate Pastor in summer of 2005. A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, he received a BA in History from Davidson Colege in 1994. After several years in business, Kirk attended Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia, for his Master of Divinity degree and New College at the University of Edinburgh for his Master of Theology degree. Marlon Hurst, Director of Music and Arts Marlon G. Hurst joined the FPC staff as Director of Music and Arts in January 2003. Prior to his arrival in Lexington, he served as the Director of Music Ministries at the Conyers Presbyterian Church in metro Atlanta, and as Director of Music and Youth at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in his hometown of London, KY. While in Atlanta, Marlon sang with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus and Chamber Chorus under the direction of Robert Shaw and Norman Mackenzie. He was also a member of The Atlanta Singers. Marlon holds degrees in church music and choral conducting from Cumberland College and the University of Tennessee. He and his wife, Jennifer, have two daughters, Kathryn and Anna Grace. Susan Combs,Director of Children's Ministry Susan Hoffman Combs began working with FPC children's program in 1991 when her children were very young. She served the church in various ways before joining the staff as Director of Children's Ministry in 2003. A native of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, she graduated from the University of the South with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She and her husband, Sayre, and their two sons, Price and Miller, live on a farm in Fayette County. Click here to email Susan.
Kelly Abraham, Director of Youth Kelly Abraham joined the staff of First Presbyterian Church in August 2005 as Director of Youth and Their Families. Kelly and her husband, Kirk, moved to Lexington in August 2004 from Columbia, Missouri, where they served as leaders of the Middle School Youth Group for First Presbyterian Church for three years. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, she received a BA in Accounting and International Business from the University of Puget Sound in 1994.
