At particularly significant times in the Christian year, First Presbyterian Church
offers additional worship services for the deepening of the spiritual life.
Such services may include:

Magnificat Sunday: The Chancel Choir presents in worship a musical setting of the Virgin Mary's song of praise, accompanied by instrumental ensemble. Typically presented on the Third Sunday of Advent. |
Lessons and Carols: The story of God's redemptive acts, culminating with the birth of Jesus, is told through scripture lessons and corresponding choral and congregational song. Presented in early December, and features all FPC choirs. |

Youth Sunday: The Middle and High School Youth Groups lead this annual service, providing leadership in all facets of the worship. Mid-spring. |

Maundy Thursday/Tenebrae: Held on the Thursday evening prior to Easter, this communion service follows Jesus' journey to the cross and ends with the extinguishing of all lights in the church. |

Trinity Sunday: Marking the middle of the church year and the end of "extraordinary time" in the church calendar, this service of celebration features the Chancel Choir performing a major choral/orchestral work in the context of worship. (Late-May/Early-June) |
