"[mission at FPC is] a ministry to propagate the faith and carry our humanitarian work in both local and global settings, with the ultimate goal of helping to alleviate poverty and 'difference' among the world's people."

- Dick Ulack, FPC member.

The Kentucky God's Pantry Food Bank is a member of the Kentucky Association of Second Harvest Food Banks (KASHFB), the Nation's Food Bank Network. The KASHFB works to "distribute food and grocery products, increase public awareness of domestic hunger, and advocate for policies that benefit America's hungry."

Because God's pantry has a greater buying power ($1 donation can buy $10 worth of food) First Church's primary support comes in the form of financial contribution. However, during the holiday season, God's Pantry invites members of First Presbyterian Church to offer not only food donations but also the time and energy to fill "Holiday Food Baskets" for local families in need. During the culmination of the NFL season, the youth organize a "Souperbowl," gathering donations to further the ministries of God's Pantry.
