Fresh Stop is a community supported agriculture (CSA) food basket model with a mission twist. It provides locally grown fresh produce to church members and our mission partners while supporting local farmers traditionally focused on tobacco dependent farmers.

- Creates an alternative market for local family farms (and focuses on supporting tobacco dependent farmers)

- Brings fresh, local, nutritious produce to church members for a low cost.

- Provides a subsidized food basket for members of the neighborhood surrounding the church as well as some of First Church's mission partners.

1. In the early spring, the Fresh Stop Team sells "shares" to those interested.
     a. A share is $475 for the season (payment plans are listed on our membership form) and 25% of your payment goes towards subsidizing a share for a family in need.
     b. When you purchase a "share" you commit to that share every Sunday throughout the season (June 3rd - October 14th).
     c. If you cannot pick up the food on a particular week, you can contact the Fresh Stop Team.

2. Each Saturday, the local farmer brings the fresh food picked that week to the church where a team of volunteers sets up a small "mini-market" in the Assembly Room.

3. Each Sunday, " shareholders" pick up their shares between 12:00-2:00pm in the Assembly Room of the Church.

Any remaining food will be taken to the Hope Center and other partners in mission, providing fresh food to those important ministries.

Fresh Stop is entering its fourth season in 2012 and has worked with 15 family farmers and around 160 families. If you are interested in becoming a member of Fresh Stop next season or volunteering, please contact Fresh Stop at freshstoplex@gmail.com or (859) 608-5538.
